Come on! Arguing that a 21 year old woman should be forfeiting her studies and future career to think about marrying and having children is ridiculous. It’s been fifty years since that was the norm. If that’s what a woman chooses as being right for her, fine, but the fact is that is very unusual in the U.S. at this point. It’s the norm only in conservative, religious pockets of the population.

@Kurt
He calls himself a millionaire in that video. I’m sure he makes good money from his writing, and he’s got a new book that is doing well. Obviously, he’s got no dependents (though potentially many children!). Of course, the word millionaire doesn’t mean what it did in the past – it doesn’t mean he’s on the Forbes 400 Rich List, lol.

Yep Susan, I was the “college married” and went all in with my boyfriend at the time. From freshman year of college until I was almost 25, we lived together, shared finances, and were basically inseparable. I seemed to just gravitate toward LTRs.
Looking back I wish I hadn’t done the “pretend married” thing. I did not make any good friends in college, and I didn’t know any other kind of men were out there. I was just too scared to try to navigate the big scary world, so I clung to a guy who by most standards was a terrible choice, who abused drugs and alcohol.
As for the late morning classes, I was really thankful for them! I never drank or partied, but I’m nocturnal by nature and would function better after 10am. Studies show that most teenagers tend to go to sleep later and wake up later than prepubescent children. I think they should start high school later, too, and do 10am to 5pm instead of the typical 8am to 3pm.

Coming from a male perspective, I know that I would at least in part prefer women that aren’t engaging in rampant sexual debauchery. The reason for this is that such women tend to be obsessed with the Greek scene, and will only associate with you if you are a part of that scene. They don’t date, only hook up at such parties. If you’re independent, furnishing contacts within the Greek scene can be difficult (I have yet to make an SAE friend), which limits sexual and romantic possibilities. It would be refreshing to see more women with their own lives.
